Running a small criminal defence firm which is almost entirely funded by government legal aid is really hard. The money isn’t there to keep the bills paid. Anyone who thinks lawyers in the UK Criminal Justice System need to come and look at my bank balance. I’ve just done the sums for this month and I really wish I hadn’t, plus VAT time again!!
